Dr. Raman Velayudhan is Coordinator of the Vector Ecology & Management Unit at the World Health Organisation's Department for the Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases. Speaking at the Dengue Side Event at the 72nd World Health Assembly, Dr. Velayudhan outlines the current challenges associated with the spread of Aedes mosquitoes, the increase in dengue outbreaks and global risk, as well as the response and strategies needed to control this, with a focus on the WHO's Global Vector Control Response strategy.
