Guides on Stigma and Mental Wellbeing

The complications and morbidities arising from Neglected Tropical Diseases often lead to stigma and discrimination of those affected within their communities. Many may as a result of exclusion and discrimination develop poor mental wellbeing, including mental conditions such as depression or anxiety. These Guides on Stigma and Mental Wellbeing are a co-production of the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP) and the Neglected Tropical Disease NGO Network (NNN), and were updated in 2019 to incorporate new insights and evidence, making mental wellbeing an integral component of the series. The writers include specialist researchers, NGO staff, mental health professionals, policy makers, programme managers and people personally affected by NTDs.
