Kesach was a strong and active woman until she contracted LF. LF often leads to elephantiasis, which can cause painful and visible disfigurations, including grossly enlarged limbs, and permanent disability. Like many people living with elephantiasis, Kesach was often in too much pain to work and was shunned by her community in the village of Sankura, Ethiopia. Thanks to the RLMF, people like Kesach are finally getting the care they need. Kesach has been able to continue working and is focused on keeping her two children, Najat and Biruk, in school.
