The activities carried out by the researchers of the Department of Biology at the Federico II University of Naples and by the New Technologies Of Art laboratory on the island of Procida have shown that it is possible to involve citizens in an eco-sustainable research project , which at the same time manages to make local communities more united, active and resilient. The joint action of artists and scientists has made each Procidan family actively participate in the process of scientific and artistic experimentation, helping to highlight a deep sense of community. The active involvement of the community has also speeded up the scientific process by carrying out a real "community monitoring" which has allowed researchers to receive accurate and relevant data in a constant and immediate way.
